Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement is published on our website in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on the accessibility requirements for products and services (European Accessibility Act).

This law ensures that websites, products, and services are accessible to as many people as possible, including individuals with disabilities.

Measures to Support Accessibility

PocketBook implements the following measures to ensure accessibility of the PocketBook shop:

  • Integrating accessibility into our internal policies – accessibility is part of our working procedures and company values.

  • Considering accessibility in our procurement practices – we evaluate whether selected tools or services support accessibility.

  • Defining clear accessibility goals and assigning responsibilities – dedicated team members ensure standards are met.

  • Including an accessibility checklist in the development template for internal policies – all new policies undergo a simple review to ensure compliance.

  • Publishing all internal policies in accessible formats – our documents are easily readable with assistive technologies like screen readers.

  • Providing resources or guidelines for vendors to meet accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, inclusive design) – we help partners align with our accessibility goals.

  • Tracking and reporting accessibility progress quarterly – we evaluate our progress every three months to stay on track.

  • Establishing processes to prevent and resolve accessibility issues – clear steps are in place to address any problems promptly.

  • Conducting internal audits of digital products – our website and apps are tested regularly for accessibility.

  • Appointing and training an accessibility advocate within the development team – this person supports and promotes accessibility internally.

  • Including accessibility checks in release cycles, code reviews, and quality assurance – we test before new features or updates are launched.

  • Introducing all team members to accessibility fundamentals during onboarding – new hires are trained from day one.

Compliance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They include three levels of compliance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The PocketBook shop is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means that some parts of the content do not fully meet accessibility standards.

However, our store meets most major accessibility criteria.

Additional Accessibility Considerations

Although our target is compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, we have also implemented Level AAA success criteria where feasible, particularly for perceivability and operability.

In other words, we have gone beyond the minimum requirements where possible to offer a better, more inclusive user experience.
